Jujube Glazed Chicken

Use our Jujubenate jujubes for a delicious glazed chicken!


  • 4-6 pieces Chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 1 cup dried Jujubes
  • ¼ cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 tblsp Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 tblsp Rice Vinegar
  • 2 tblsp Honey
  • 3 cloves Garlic (crushed)
  • 1 tblsp Ginger (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • Sesame seeds (garnish)


  • Soak the dried jujubes in warm water for 15mins until they are plump, then remove pips and cut into halves.
  • Marinate chicken in a bowl with soy sauce, hoisin sauce, crushed garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and leave for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
  • Place chicken in in baking dish and place soaked jujubes around the chicken, then pout remaining marinade over the chicken.
  • Bake in the pre-heated oven for about 45 minutes or until cooked through, basting with sauce in the pan around half way through cooking.
  • Once cooked garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve over rice or with your favourite side dish.
